LIGHTNING DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY 2026

The Academy is designed to increase a player’s skill base, game knowledge, meet other players in their association and zone and to kickstart season 2026. The program offers a great opportunity for players to get to know one another before the JSC trials in April.
​
The 5 week program is run at satellite venues across the North West Lightning zone and includes two game days where all players meet to play a variety of games within their age groups. Players will be exposed to all coaches over the course of the program, enabling them to learn from a wealth of experience. To ensure the sustainability of the program, a minimum of 12 participants is required at each venue.

Training Dates: Sunday Feb 8th, 15th, March 15th Training Time: 9am - 11am

Cost: $130 (including black training shirt)

Past Academy members with a training shirt will be charged $80 unless ordering a new one.
The North West Lightning Academy will enhance a participant’s chances of selection for the Junior State Championships by being coached by JSC coaches and selectors. Players intending to trial for JSC are strongly encouraged to take part in the program.
Coach Information
Local coaches benefit from the program too. A Head Coach will mentor coaches, who will deliver the sessions at each venue. Just like the players, any coaches wishing to coach at JSC are encouraged to become part of the program. All coaches are paid an honorarium and have the opportunity to be accredited.

If your child is keen to participate in the Academy click on the following link, fill in their details and pay the $30 deposit by 5pm Thursday 8th January. Any registrations after this date will not receive the training shirt. Registrations will remain open until February 4th 2026.
