NORTH WEST LIGHTNING UNDER 16 OPPORTUNITY

Attention all junior hockey players (and parents).

North West Lightning are offering a great opportunity for your child to reach the next level of their hockey, make new friends and enjoy competitive hockey on synthetic turf.

Players from Hockey Central Victoria, Goulburn Valley Hockey Association, North Central Hockey Association, Wimmera Hockey Association and Sunraysia Hockey Association are invited to nominate for the North West Lightning Under 16 Shield teams. In the past this competition has been mixed but for season 2020 there are separate male and female competitions.

The junior competition is played on a Friday evening in Bendigo or Melbourne and starts on the 1st May, running for fourteen weeks. We have entered an Under 16 boys’ team and an Under 16 girls’ team and are seeking expressions of interest from eligible players (born in 2004 and later).

Ross Evans and Dale Boyd have been appointed coaches of the boys’ and girls’ teams respectively and interested players are invited to attend training sessions on a Tuesday evening at the Bendigo hockey pitch from 6.00 – 7.30pm.

Trials will occur on:

Sunday 1st March from 11am – 2pm,

Tuesday 3rd and 10th of March from 6.00 – 7.30pm

Official training beginning on Tuesday 17th March from 6.00 – 7.30pm once the teams have been selected.
